Attending or hosting themed parties with a bunch of friends seem like a thing of the past, huh? BUT who said it had to end? Spice up your fiesta night with these adorable DIY cactus name holders or turn them into mini sculptures that you can place around your home!

I came across this cute DIY project by Oh Happy Day and had to try it out. My husband and I try to host bi-weekly taco nights - so this is the perfect addition to it.

I've linked the supplies I used to bring this all together :) Happy creating!

What You'll Need

- Exacto knife (a kitchen knife is perfectly fine too!)

- Acrylic paint (Dollarama or Amazon has kits you can purchase)

- Paint brushes (Dollarama)

- Push pin (you can use a knife or any sharp-ish object to carve out lines!)

- Small bowl of water

Super simple material list, right? Alright, so let's get to the actual work now.

STEP ONE

Grab a piece of your air-dry clay and begin to mold into a circular cylinder, leaving the top of it rounded and the bottom flattened out (so it can stand up). Don't forget the arm! Grab a tinier piece of clay and mold into a circular cylinder too. I wanted to add some life to the cactus, so I used the push pin to sketch in a few lines!

STEP TWO

Merge the arm to the body of the cactus by applying pressure to the end. Be sure this doesn't budge!

STEP THREE

Use your exacto knife and slit the top of the cactus - this is where you'll feed your name card!

STEP FOUR

Repeat steps 1 to 3 and sculpt various shapes and sizes for your party guests! Let this dry for up to 48 hours before applying paint.

STEP FIVE

Grab your paint colours and let's get colourful :)

STEP SIX

Drying time is under 15 minutes! Then voila :) Fiesta night is well under way!
